Blood Feud (Italian title: Fatto di sangue fra due uomini per causa di una vedova. Si sospettano moventi politici) is a 1978 thriller/drama film directed by Lina Wertmüller, starring Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Giancarlo Giannini e Turi Ferro.

Plot - Comitini, 1922. Angelo Paternò was killed by Vito Acicatena and everyone in the village knows it: however, no one has the courage to testify at the trial. Months later, Rosario Maria Spallone, a socialist lawyer, would like to persuade the widow Titina to ask for the trial to be reopened. On one of his visits he finds Acicatena trying to rape the beautiful widow. Rosario Maria intervenes and remains bruised in the struggle. Titina is so grateful that she indulges in it.

However, Angelo's cousin Nick, an enriched killer and smuggler, also comes to town from America. A relationship is born between them and Titina. To complicate the already not simple situation, politics is also put in place: after the march on Rome, Vito becomes head of the local squads, while Rosario Maria tries to occupy the lands, being beaten and forced to gulp castor oil aside. of the fascist squadron of Acicatena.

Nick would like to avenge his cousin and run away with Titina, but Rosario Maria - who attempted to attack Acicatena - engages him in a real battle. Nick takes Titina and Rosario Maria to the maritime station, but there they are joined by Acicatena, still bleeding, who has brought the squadrons with him. Rosario will be fatally hit by Acicatena offering himself helpless, Nick with two guns causes a massacre among the squad, until he himself is hit by a shot fired by Vito, he collapses dying on the now agonizing lawyer. In the unseen Titina crowd, she takes Nick's gun and kills Acicatena.

Titina assists the two until death, swearing to both of her love and to each be the father of the child she carries in her womb.
