Suggested walking route 1: Woodplace Lane (video footage of the walk down the lane from Netherne)

This is part of the first route suggested by Surrey County Council for Netherne village year 7 children to walk to school (Oasis Academy, Coulsdon) and back each day. Estimated walking time 55-65 minutes each way. Woodplace lane is a poorly lit, single, winding lane. It has many pot holes, no footpath and is known by motorists as a dangerous road to drive down and most Netherne residents do not deem it safe enough to walk or cycle down. The road is often closed for a variety of reasons.
