The Lioness

"Many years ago in the kingdom of Zukumo a female child was considered as useless, therefore giving birth to a female child was like an abomination to the land. Many parents had to kill their female children since they were considered useless. Dre the only son of King Passi was desperately seeking a male child to no avail. It dawned on him that the gods had decided not to bless him with sons, but only daughters. Knowing very well that his father King Passi would in no time join his ancestors, Dre decided to marry a second wife who could possibly give him a male child, thereby making him (Dre) a qualified successor to his father King Passi. He knew too well that anything short of that, his wicked uncle Mario would be called upon to become King. Since his childhood, Mario had been helplessly desperate for that Royal position. Kaya the second daughter of Dre who was blessed with the gift of communicating with the gods, was a gallant heroin and a blessing to the Kingdom but her father was too spiritually blind to notice it. Dre's failure to notice the greatness of his daughter Kaya could also be attributed to his eagerness to have a male child. Of course, he would never want the Royal lineage to be transferred to his uncle Marios family who as a matter of fact, was not a biological uncle. Kaya started performing miracles in the kingdom including beating up strong men whom no female could have the courage to withstand. She would single highhandedly met out punishment to evil doers and also support women who were sacked by their husbands just because they gave birth to female children. Kaya ended up putting up a special home for all such neglected women and taking care of them. King Passi knew that his granddaughter was a blessing from the gods because the gods had revealed that secret to him on several occasions, but unknown to Dre. When King Passi finally joined his ancestors, Mario wanted to take over as King by all means. Surprisingly, all efforts made by the wicked Mario to forcefully ascend to the throne were aborted by Kaya thereby finally paving the way for her father Dre to become King.
