Highway footage shows floodwaters rising around the Hawkesbury River Bridge. By 1.30pm on March 3, the swollen river had started to cover the bridge, leading to its closure.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the Hawkesbury River at Windsor peaked at 11.99 metres around 2:30am Friday, with moderate flooding. It sits slightly below the major flood level of 12.20 metres.
