The Kimberling City Bridge in Kimberling City, Missouri, closed on May 1 due to rising water levels in Table Rock Lake. This drone footage shows the bridge from a variety of angles. The bridge’s girders, which normally rise above the water several feet, are barely visible.
The bridge was shut down after water began flowing into the girders, and there is currently no time estimate for when it will re-open, the Branson Tri-Lakes News reported, citing the Missouri Department of Transportation. According to Ozarks First, this is the bridge’s first closure in more than 40 years.
The area surrounding the Table Rock Lake has been suffering from flooding after weekend torrential rains, and the Table Rock Dam was opened on April 30, risking more flooding downstream. Credit: Kevin Lighty via Storyful
