On the second and final day of his visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a conclave of chief ministers from BJP-ruled states ahead of crucial assembly elections next year. Nine deputy CMs of the BJP-ruled states are also expected to participate to deliberate on a wide range of subjects.
Meanwhile, the ongoing face-off between the ruling BJP and the Samajwadi Party continued with the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi by PM Modi. Firing a salvo at the prime minister, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, "People stay in Kashi when the end is near.”
