甚麼是「真」?甚麼是「假」?在我們身處的世界，真相是否愈來愈難確定？隨著社交媒體被廣泛應用、資訊泛濫，加上「深偽」技術的冒起，每個人對「真相」的詮釋也越來越分歧。不同界別的人，都傾向躲入同温層，彼此間的認同深化了同一社群內的「主觀真相」；要不同社群就「真相」達致共識，難度倍增。
「深偽」除了被視為一種治療方式，甚或藝術種類，還有其他可能性嗎？合成媒體的出現，將令虛假及錯誤信息的傳播更廣泛、更嚴重嗎？
Seeing is Believing looks into what is ‘real’ and what is ‘fake’. With the rise of social media, different groups in our society are more and more inclined to retreat into their own ‘echo chambers’ where they experience their own ‘subjective truth’. This makes it increasingly difficult to reach consensus about how to view the ‘real’ world.
The advent of synthetic media heralds a new effective and influential step in the distribution of dis- and misinformation. What role does synthetic media play in how we experience ‘reality’? An exploration of the future with three prominent thinkers that highlights both the perils and the positive potential of this media.
