Edward Snowden Used Bitcoin To Leak Secrets

Former CIA agent and NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden recently revealed that he used Bitcoin to help him manage classified documents he leaked in 2013. Snowden took to social media, tweeting, “you know that whole NSA story from almost TEN YEARS AGO? I paid for the servers that made that possible…using Bitcoin.” Snowden has made light of wealthy venture capitalists who have, on the one hand, cautioned against crypto, and, on the other hand, own significant stakes in these currencies. Presumably, Snowden was taking aim at industrialists like Elon Musk who play with cryptocurrency and try to make it more serious than Snowden believes it is. At press time, Bitcoin was up a third of a percent at $58.989.40.
