Grass fire breaks out in East Malling

Three acres of grass and woodland caught fire in East Malling this afternoon.
Crews were called to an area behind St James the Great School in Chapman Way just after 1.30 pm.
Kent Fire and Rescue crews discovered the fire covered around the size of two Premier League football pitches.
Residents nearby said smoke and ash from the fire was spreading to their gardens. The fire was out by 2.45 pm.
