In WA, average winter rainfall has fallen about 20 per cent in the past 30 years and runoff has reduced up to 80 per cent. Western Australia is also learning to live with the drier conditions and there's a view the rest of the country could learn about climate adaptation from the west. Professor of environmental engineering at the University of Western Australia, Anas Ghadouani, says people shouldn't mistake one rainy year for a solution.
