JESSICA ALVES, formally known as Roddy Alves, is at the beginning of a brand new life now that her gender reassignment surgery in Bangkok, Thailand, at Kamol Hospital is complete. Jessica spent £200,000 and has been transitioning over the past 18 months. She decided to transition so she could be happy in her life and become not just more confident, but the person she has always wanted to be. Jessica told Truly: “I have been waiting for this moment to actually be happy. I've been waiting all my life to have this surgery. I'm excited to feel this new feeling throughout my body. At the age of 37, I am a virgin and restarting my life from scratch. That’s how it feels. I am starting my life all over again." Jessica chose Dr. Kamol for this life changing procedure. “Dr. Kamol did his best, and not to achieve the best result aesthetically, but also, internally." Even though Jessica has reached her ultimate goal, she still encounters much judgement from others for her body modification decisions. Jessica told Truly: “A lot of people judge me and talk about me, because they don't understand. I believe that society worldwide needs to be educated in the subject. Yet, I feel more strong and more confident to do my job and to face society as well and stand up for myself and say, 'I am a woman'." Dr. Kamol also believes Jessica will help change the way for other patients. Dr. Kamol told Truly: “Jessica is smart and I think she will be the leader of transgender patients and people and be an inspiration for people in the transgender group." Jessica has an exciting journey ahead of her and believes this is just the beginning of a new era…
