Highlights of the 7th day of filing for the Certificate of Candidacy

Former Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay on Thursday, Oct. 7, filed his certificate of candidacy. Binay will run under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), the party he founded in 2016.

Taguig 1st District Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano is seeking a Senate comeback after filing his certificate of candidacy (COC). In 2016, he ran for vice president as then-Davao City Mayor’s running mate but lost to Leni Robredo.

Human rights lawyer Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno on Thursday, Oct. 7, filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator. Diokno seeks to redeem his loss in the 2019 midterm elections, where he finished 21st. He will run under the Katipunan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KANP).

Also, VP Leni Robredo filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for president Thursday, Oct. 7 hours after announcing her presidential bid.
The vice president filed her COC as an independent candidate.
She was accompanied by her daughters Aika and Tricia.
On Wednesday, leaders of the Akbayan Party endorsed Robredo as their presidential bet in next year’s election.
