Tarana Burke of Me Too shares her darkest moments: “It was difficult"
Tarana Burke, founder of the Me Too movement, talks about her memoir “Unbound” with Salon’s D. Watkins. Burke talks about her life story, the inspiration behind the Me Too movement and what being a survivor of sexual violence means to her. “It's not easy to talk about the worst things that ever happened to you in your life about being abused, violence that you experienced, but I needed to say it,” Burke said on “Salon Talks.” “I needed to say it out loud for myself, first and foremost. It's like facing your fears almost. And then there's another part that's like, if I need to say it for myself, there's somebody else that needs to hear it, too.”
