First-term MLA Bhupendra Patel will be the new Gujarat chief minister. He will assume the top post two days after Vijay Rupani’s surprise exit a year ahead of the Assembly polls. Patel was unanimously elected BJP legislature party leader on Sunday. The party’s CM choice came as a surprise for many. Here are five things to know about the new CM.
