In an interview on Wednesday, Gary Gensler, chief of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, said that cryptocurrency is a speculative asset that needs to be regulated to protect investors. He noted that the SEC plans to work with Congress to pass laws to make the crypto-sphere safer.
