In India Governments hire a contractor to make roads by public's money paid as tax but some of them use cheap ways to cut down the cost so that they can keep the saved cash for themselves. To stop this NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) has passed strict rules about the issue. According to the rules, If any contractor's made road breaks down before the given time period then he is to be fined 1-10 Crore Rs and a 2 year ban if anyone meets accident because of potholes in the road made by them.

भारत में सरकारें कर के रूप में भुगतान किए गए जनता के पैसे से सड़क बनाने के लिए एक ठेकेदार को काम पर रखती हैं, लेकिन उनमें से कुछ लागत में कटौती करने के लिए सस्ते तरीकों का इस्तेमाल करते हैं ताकि वे अपने लिए बचाई गई नकदी रख सकें। इसे रोकने के लिए NHAI (भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण) ने इस मुद्दे को लेकर सख्त नियम बनाए हैं। नियमों के अनुसार यदि किसी ठेकेदार की बनाई हुई सड़क तय समय से पहले टूट जाती है तो उस पर 1-10 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना और 2 साल का प्रतिबंध लगाया जा सकता है, यदि कोई सड़क में गड्ढों के कारण दुर्घटना का शिकार हो जाता है।
