Over 3,000 SA schools still use pit toilets

The Homecoming Foundation is calling on all of us to help eradicate pit toilets at schools. They've set up the hashtag, The Bucket Stops With Me. It aims to assist in eradicating the bucket system in schools and replacing it with dignified and safe sanitation infrastructure. So far, the NGO has managed to raise R62,000 via Backabuddy. Just to give you an idea of the depth of the situation, children in over over 3-thousand schools around the country are still using this system.
