Pegasus issue can't be discussed in Parliament, says govt

The government on Friday stated that the Pegasus issue, which has rocked proceedings over the past few weeks, can't be discussed in the Parliament as the case is sub judice. The clarification came after a question on the alleged snooping scandal listed by Left MP Binoy Viswam in the Rajya Sabha was disallowed. The Supreme Court is currently listening to a tranche of petitions filed by senior journalists, advocate M L Sharma and CPI leader John Brittas seeking an independent court-monitored probe into the Pegasus snooping row.
