Blame game continues over Assam-Mizoram border violence

A boundary dispute festering for 25-odd years escalated into full-blown violence involving security forces and civilians on either side of the Assam-Mizoram interstate border. The clashes left at least six Assam policemen dead and over 50 individuals injured. Mizoram claims that Assam police provoked these violent clashes and the top security officials of both states refused to honour each other's summons over the July 26 incident.
