Second wave hits rural India hard, here's how

According to the data from the Centre for Science and Environment, rural districts have accounted for more deaths and cases during the second wave of the pandemic. The report has revealed that  six districts in rural districts in India accounted for 52 per cent of all Covid-19 deaths and 53 per cent of all new cases recorded in the country in May of this year. The report suggests that the surge in cases was found majorly because of poor health infrastructure, because of which patients couldn't receive the required treatment and medication.
