India has been hearing a lot about an “Unholy Alliance”. On January 12, 2019, both Prime Minister Modi and party president Amit Shah gave speeches attacking the alliance of opposition parties against the BJP in advance of the national election.
But there was another election we should remember as we debate today's Mahagathbandhan. , Forty years ago, leaders including the BJP's founders Advani and Vajpayee formed the most "unholy alliance" – to defeat the Congress and come to power for the first time.
