'Now or Later, It Has to Happen' - Anjali Gopalan on Civil Rights for LGBTQ

Anjali Gopalan and the Naz Foundation have fought a historic court case for 17 years, to decriminalise Section 377. Section 377 prescribes life imprisonment for "unnatural sex." Even while she has been waiting for her petition to be resolved, the incumbent Chief Justice of India decided in January to hear a new petition, jumping over the petition by Naz.

In conversation with The Wire's Anoo Bhuyan, Gopalan talks about what the 17 years have been, dealing with the ups and downs of due process and the need to have unity and build coalitions at this critical point in the LGBTQ movement. Click here to support The Wire: https://yt.orcsnet.com/#the-wire
