Want to develop Lakshadweep like Maldives: Collector

Lakshadweep Collector S Asker Ali on May 28 said that the administration aims for the development of Lakshadweep holistically as these islands are exotic.
Collector S Asker Ali said, “We've integrated Island Management Plan notified in 2017 regarding island development but there was no part for implementation. To start proper development in Lakshadweep, we want to do it holistically as these islands are exotic.”
“Our plan is for local resident's welfare & Lakshadweep's development. We want to develop Lakshadweep like Maldives if not better. After 75 years of Independence, development didn't commensurate with its potential. Why Lakshadweep didn't become Maldives of India?” he added.
