Giving birth on the run: displaced woman tells harrowing tale of Mozambique attack

Julia Francisco and other displaced people have been living in makeshift shelters on a beach in the coastal Mozambique town of Pemba since fleeing deadly attacks in March by Islamic State-linked fighters on their home town of Palma. She recounts the ordeal, which included fleeing on foot and giving birth on the way. The attack marked a major intensification in an insurgency that has wreaked havoc across northeastern Cabo Delgado province for over three years as the militants seek to establish a caliphate.
