Mass crowding, chaos at Ghaziabad vaccine centre as people kept waiting for hours

When India kicked off its inoculation drive in January this year, people heaved a collective sigh of relief, hoping that the vaccine could finally be the beginning of the end of the Covid-19 trauma.

Months later, the situation on the ground is far from perfect with states and UTs sending SOS alerts to the Centre over vaccine scarcity and at times people are being turned away from vaccination centres.
