The Conservative Party Chairman Amanda Milling says that Labour took Hartlepool "for granted" after holding the seat for 57 years. Labour lost the constituency to the Conservatives by 6,940 votes in the by-election. The newly elected MP Jill Mortimer "took a really positive vision for the people of Hartlepool" says Ms Milling, "She will be a strong voice for them". Report by Thomasl.
