Covid-19 cases surge in Bengal after mass rallies

The number of coronavirus cases have sharply risen in West Bengal. On Thursday, the state recorded the highest single-day spike of 6,769 COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 6,36,885, the state health department said. The surge in cases comes at a time when the state is witnessing a rough showdown between TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and BJP in the ongoing assembly polls. Several rallies have been held in the state where people and leaders were found flouting Covid-19 guidelines. For more, watch the full video.
