The Boston Celtics were able to come away with a 116-115 win vs the Portland Trailblazers late on Tuesday night. The Celtics improved to 2-0 on their road trip with one game left in LA against the Lakers. The Garden Report recaps the game, giving their thoughts, insight, and analysis.
Jayson Tatum led the way in scoring with 32 points. He also added nine rebounds and five assists. Jaylen Brown was second in this regard, putting up 24 points on solid shooting. Kemba Walker also pitched in with 21 points on the night.
Marcus Smart made some key plays throughout the game and especially down the stretch. He had a huge block on Norman Powell that was reminiscent of his block against Powell in the playoffs last season. His defense has come into question in recent weeks and he had all the answers against Portland. He was also the guy tasked with guarding Damian Lillard for the majority of the game. Smart also put up 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists.
