The cloverleaf exercise is a great way to teach a horse to always wait and listen to find out where the rider wants to go next. It us usually done on the flat with no poles of any kind, although they can be added if desired. Today, we bumped up the anti by placing crosspoles on the outer unmarked intersections of the four cardinal points of the square. This cloverleaf design is larger than normal to accommodate the jumps and room to both trot or canter the cloverleaf inside. Great for dealing with a Baby Green Jumper that wants to charge the fences!
