通常数百匹の大群を作って海面下を泳ぎまわる体長3cmほどのステージのボラの赤ちゃんを、地方名でオボコと呼びます。
体力的についていけない、はぐれオボコは、ほとんどの場合他の捕食者の餌食になってその生涯を終えますが、彼らの生きた証を残しておきたくて、その最後の姿をずーっと撮影しました。

The local name for the baby mullet is oboko, a stage about three centimeters long that usually swims beneath the surface of the sea in large schools of several hundred.
Most of the time, these stragglers, unable to keep up physically, end their lives as prey for other predators, but I wanted to preserve the evidence of their lives, so I took pictures of their final appearance.
