At a Trane plant in Clarksville, Tennessee, 111 hourly production workers have learned they're being laid off.
Trane's general manager said in a prepared statement that the layoffs are due to slow sales. He added that when market conditions improve, laid-off workers can be called back under terms of a labor agreement.
Trane, a manufacturer of heating and air conditioning equipment, has been Clarksville's largest manufacturing employer.
