basti mein kuchh log nirale ab bhi hain

dekho KHali daman wale ab bhi hain

dekho wo bhi hain jo sab kah sakte the

dekho un ke munh par tale ab bhi hain

dekho un aankhon ko jinhon ne sab dekha

dekho un par KHauf ke jale ab bhi hain

dekho ab bhi jins-e-wafa nayab nahin

apni jaan pe khelne wale ab bhi hain

tare mand hue par zarre raushan hain

miTTi mein aabaad ujale ab bhi hain

بستی میں کچھ لوگ نرالے اب بھی ہیں

دیکھو خالی دامن والے اب بھی ہیں

دیکھو وہ بھی ہیں جو سب کہہ سکتے تھے

دیکھو ان کے منہ پر تالے اب بھی ہیں

دیکھو ان آنکھوں کو جنہوں نے سب دیکھا

دیکھو ان پر خوف کے جالے اب بھی ہیں

دیکھو اب بھی جنس وفا نایاب نہیں

اپنی جان پہ کھیلنے والے اب بھی ہیں

تارے ماند ہوئے پر ذرے روشن ہیں

مٹی میں آباد اجالے اب بھی ہیں

बस्ती में कुछ लोग निराले अब भी हैं

देखो ख़ाली दामन वाले अब भी हैं

देखो वो भी हैं जो सब कह सकते थे

देखो उन के मुँह पर ताले अब भी हैं

देखो उन आँखों को जिन्हों ने सब देखा

देखो उन पर ख़ौफ़ के जाले अब भी हैं

देखो अब भी जिंस-ए-वफ़ा नायाब नहीं

अपनी जान पे खेलने वाले अब भी हैं

तारे माँद हुए पर ज़र्रे रौशन हैं

मिट्टी में आबाद उजाले अब भी हैं
