  • il y a 4 ans
In 1956 soldiers from the 1st Special Forces Group, known as 8231st AU, 12th, 13th, and 16th Special Forces Operational Detachments are seen conducting submarine lockout, combat diving, underwater demolition and a host of sophisticated special operations maritime operations (MAROPS). Army Green Berets formed the first Combat Dive teams more than six years before the first SEALs BUDS class ever graduated. The true fathers of MAROPS in special operations, Army Special Forces AKA Green Berets have carried on the legacy of the OSS and its Maritime Unit, to which they trace their lineage. Army Special Forces were the first Special Operations Unit in the US military to conduct Maritime Operations in support of Special Operations Mission while operating as a SOF unit. Depicted in this video are Green Berets, Al Combs, Sigurd Bue, Floyd Helmick, Gene Hunt many were combat veterans of WWII and would go on to fight in other conflicts.
