미국 하루 신규환자 20만명 넘어... 크리스마스 다가오자 유럽 긴장 태세
There continue to be record-high cases of COVID-19 in the United States and Europe.
AFP reports that there have now been more than 400-thousand deaths, while the U.S. has reported more than 200-thousand cases in a single day.
Kim Yeon-seung has the details.
The U.S. on Friday reported its highest daily number of cases, at more than 205-thousand, though with the Thanksgiving holiday and the weekend, the reported numbers are expected to be inconsistent.
At least 20 states did not report their daily cases on Thursday because of Thanksgiving, so for some states the number represents both Thursday and Friday.
With Saturday evening's count of another 138-thousand, the U.S. has now seen more than a hundred thousand for each of the last 26 days.
The cases in November account for 30 percent of the country's total to date of around 13 million.
Germany on Friday reported more than 22-thousand new cases, bringing its total to date to over one million.
It reported more than 400 deaths for the day, while Poland had more than 600 deaths both new single-day highs.
In Italy, there were more than 800 deaths on both Thursday and Friday.
And in Britain, on Friday, there were close to 500.
The death toll in the UK so far has risen to 57-thousand.
