A 33-year-old freelance event organiser who punched a firefighter in a video that went viral has been sentenced to six months in jail and fined RM6,000 by two magistrate’s courts in Kajang, Selangor over the incident last week.
Kan Hong Kit was sentenced on Tuesday (Oct 20) to a month in jail for using criminal intimidation to obstruct civil servant Alfred Rudy Anak Tungku from carrying out his duty as a fireman at Jalan Suakasih, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Batu 9, Cheras, at 10.40am on Oct 15.
At a separate court, Kan was sentenced to five months in jail and fined RM6,000 in default of three months in jail for driving recklessly.
