SSR death case: Thousands of fake accounts under scanner for defaming Mumbai Police, 2 FIRs filed

The Mumbai Police is investigating thousands of fake social media accounts that were set up after the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Two FIRs have been registered against unknown persons for posting abusive comments against Mumbai Police and also for spreading misinformation on the 34-year-old actor's death by suicide. The fake accounts are expected to come under the scanner following the FIRs. Posts from these accounts were uploaded on social media platforms from different countries including Italy, Japan, Poland, Slovenia, Indonesia, Turkey, Thailand, Romania and France.
