'Slippery slope' started in 1976

During a forum, discussing the implications of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang's Private Bill or RUU355, Gudwara Council Malaysia president Sardar Jagir Singh said in 1976, the term Muslim law was amended to Islamic laws and Muslim courts to Syariah courts. He said the word Syariah created the present trend and thus saw the progression that is taking place.
