Van Rooyen denies treasury plunder

Des Van Rooyen claims his appointment as Finance Minister in December 2015, was not meant to facilitate theft at Treasury, on behalf of former President Jacob Zuma. Van Rooyen has been testifying at the State Capture Inquiry. He has been granted permission to cross-examine former Treasury DG Lungisa Fuzile. Fuzile previously testified that Van Rooyen, instructed him to appoint Gupta associates, during his tenure at the Treasury.
