Assam Flood: Hundreds of elephants trapped in Brahmaputra

Over 16 lakh people in 1,536 villages across 21 districts of Assam are still affected by the flood, according to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) officials. More than 100 human lives have been lost in the state due to floods. Not only humans but animals are also affected due to this natural disaster. Due to the flood in the Brahmaputra river, around 100 elephants were trapped on Majuli island.
