The flood situation in Assam continued to worsen on Sunday with new areas flooding due to incessant rains in the state. The torrential showers have killed at least 10 people and has forced the displacement of more than a million people from their homes in the past 72 hours. Following heavy rainfall, roads were washed away as water from Brahmaputra river entered Nagaon area in Morigaon district, triggering rapid flooding, landslides and mudslides in several places.
