Jeepneys back on the road as virus restrictions eased

Thousands of the iconic minibuses known in the Philippines as jeepneys have been allowed back on the roads, more than three months after they were forced to stop running due to the coronavirus. Several thousand of jeepneys -- equipped with DIY seat dividers made from cellophane to help maintain social distancing -- are able to transport locals and labourers around the city, whose temperatures are checked and hands sanitised upon boarding the vehicle. However, despite the easing in restrictions, the vast majority of jeepneys remain grounded.
