00:00This is the range country where the pounding hooves of untamed horses still thunder over
00:08mountains, meadows, and canyons.
00:11Every herd has its own leader, but there is only one fury, fury, king of the wild stallions.
00:18And here in the wild west of today, hard riding men still battle the open range for a living.
00:23Men like Jim Newton, owner of the Broken Wheel Ranch, and Pete, his top hand who says he
00:28cut his teeth on a branding iron.
00:30Fury!
00:31Fury!
00:32Wild as fury is, that's the one human voice he's learned to love and obey.
00:41The voice of the boy who once saved his life, Jim Newton's boy, Joey.
00:50Fury!
00:51Fury!
01:06Here's a mutual trust and affection that everyone can understand, especially a woman like Helen
01:12Watkins, Joey's school teacher and unfailing champion.
01:17Now kneel down and let me get on you.
01:25And there they are together, a great wild horse and the only person on earth who can
01:30ride him, Joey and Fury.
01:36Well, that takes care of the Circle C. They'll be mighty surprised when they find their horses
02:00ain't around in the morning.
02:01It's like shooting fish in a rain barrel.
02:04You know, Jep, I think this rustling sure beats working.
02:07Hey, what do we put on our next job?
02:10Don't know.
02:11We lay low until we hear from the boss.
02:27Well, well, Jim Newton.
02:29How are you?
02:30I'm fine, Sam.
02:31How are you?
02:32Fine.
02:33What can I do for you?
02:34Well, I'd like a load of feed sent out to the broken wheel.
02:37Sure enough.
02:38How much are you going to need?
02:40Enough to feed 35 head for a couple of days or so.
02:4435 head?
02:45What did you do, bring in a wild herd?
02:47Mm-hmm.
02:48Corraled them last night.
02:49Well, good for you.
02:50Tom Simpson down in the city ought to give you a good price for them.
02:53I'm heading in to see Tom right now.
02:55Well, the horse is getting mighty scarce around here with them rustlers running loose.
02:59That's why I want to get this herd sold and out of here as soon as I can.
03:02Good for you.
03:04Say, if you're heading for the city, you'll be gone overnight, won't you?
03:08Mm-hmm.
03:09Will Pete be out there to receive the feed when I deliver it?
03:13Yeah, he'll be expecting it.
03:14All right, I'll have it out there the first thing in the morning.
03:16Good.
03:17Thanks, Sam.
03:20Hope you make a good deal on your horses.
03:22I hope so, too.
03:30Well.
03:46Hello, Jep.
03:47Sam Jackson.
03:48I just found out Jim Newton's got 35 head at the Broken Wheel Ranch.
03:53Yeah, just left here.
03:55He's going into town to make a deal for them.
03:59Yeah.
04:00Have the boys ready, and we'll hit them tonight.
04:03I'll talk to you later.
04:30Black Stallion's in the small corral.
04:32We'll get him out while the boys keep the other horses moving.
05:00Don't wake up yet.
05:02Grace is keeping his eye on the bunkhouse.
05:04He can handle the old man.
05:30Hey, come on.
05:31Down.
05:38Hello?
05:39Hello?
05:42Hello, operator.
05:43Hello?
06:00We can't handle it, Black Devil, alone.
06:02We gotta get some help.
06:09Quiet now, Fury.
06:21Come on.
06:22Come on.
06:23Come on.
06:24Come on.
06:25Come on.
06:26Come on.
06:28We gotta get out of here and call the sheriff.
06:39Nice going, kid.
06:41That horse seems to do what you tell him.
06:43So we'll just let you ride him out here for us.
06:46I won't.
06:48That horse won't be good to anybody with a bullet in his head, will he, kid?
06:54All right.
06:55All right.
06:57He'll take the kid with us.
06:58We don't want no kid around.
07:00Of course not.
07:01As soon as we get the horse out of the way, he can find his own way back here.
07:04Let's go.
07:07Ride that horse pronto.
07:09Easy, Fury.
07:10Take it easy.
07:11Blindfold him, Slim.
07:13Take it easy.
07:17Take it easy, Fury.
07:18Easy.
07:20All right, come on.
07:27Come on.
07:36All right, son.
07:37Keep your hands down.
07:38We'll get off the horse.
07:58That's a foolish thing to do, bringing him out here.
08:00That boy knows me.
08:02Take it easy, Sam.
08:03The kid can't see a thing.
08:04He's got ears.
08:05If I had said something, he might have recognized my voice.
08:07Now get him out of here, quick.
08:08I was figuring on telling him it was over there someplace.
08:10Oh, no.
08:11That's no good.
08:12I've got a better idea.
08:13Tie his hands and feet and leave him on the side of the road,
08:15near the Mill Creek Bridge.
08:16You know where that is?
08:17OK, Sam.
08:18I'll get the horse.
08:19I'll get the horse.
08:20I'll get the horse.
08:21I'll get the horse.
08:22I'll get the horse.
08:23I'll get the horse.
08:24I'll get the horse.
08:25I'll get the horse.
08:26OK, Sam.
08:27You're the boss.
08:28Do it.
08:34Come on, kid.
08:54Help!
08:55Help!
09:01Help!
09:02Help!
09:10Well, Joey, what happened?
09:11How did you get here?
09:12The rustlers, they did it.
09:14You mean they tied you up like this?
09:16Yes, sir.
09:17They stole our horses and put me here.
09:19We've got to call the sheriff's office.
09:21We most certainly do.
09:23Well, call them from my store.
09:25They've gone too far this time.
09:27Did you recognize any of them?
09:29No, sir.
09:30They had me blindfolded pretty good.
09:32They stole Fury, too.
09:34Well, come on.
09:35We've got to hurry.
09:36Get in that side over there.
09:42I never seen anything like it, Bill.
09:44We ain't had any rain stock around here for weeks
09:46till we brought up them 35 head.
09:49Then Jim goes to the city for one night,
09:51and bang, we'd get raided.
09:53How many rustlers were there, Pete?
09:55Hard to say.
09:56Five, maybe six.
09:58They were wearing real funny masks,
10:00like woman's stocking or something.
10:03What do you make of it, Bill?
10:05I'd say we're up against a well-organized gang.
10:08They know what they're doing all right.
10:10The men and I'll check around tonight,
10:12see what we can find.
10:13Can Pete and I go with you, Sheriff?
10:15Hold on.
10:16The only place you're going is to bed.
10:18But, Pete, we've got to find Fury.
10:20There'll be plenty of time for that in the morning
10:22when Jim gets back.
10:23Besides, what did Fury think if he
10:24knowed you was up all night worrying about him?
10:27Yeah, I guess he's got enough on his mind.
10:30Well, good night, Sheriff.
10:32Good night, Mr. Jackson.
10:33Thanks for what you did for me.
10:35Good night, boy.
10:36And don't you worry about that horse of yours.
10:39You'll come back safe and sound.
10:41Good night, Pete.
10:42Good night, boy.
10:46Well, I got to get on back.
10:49Break Julie's heart if anything happens to Fury.
10:51If those horses are still in this area, we'll find them.
10:55That's just it, Bill.
10:56Supposing them bandits has already got Fury
10:58and them other horses out of these parts.
11:00What happens to them then?
11:02About the only thing that can happen
11:03to a herd of stolen horses.
11:05They'll wind up in some illegal slaughterhouse.
11:08Good night, Pete.
11:09Good night.
11:10Good night.
11:20He come at me from the back.
11:22Caught me when I wasn't looking.
11:24We're going to catch him, Pete.
11:25Rustling horses is one thing, but the way they force
11:27Joey to go along with them is another.
11:31Hi, Bill.
11:33Morning, Jim.
11:34Pete.
11:35Been trying to get you on the phone.
11:37Guess they haven't fixed the cut wires yet.
11:39No, they haven't.
11:40Pete tells me that you and your men
11:41have been out after this gang.
11:43Yeah, and not a trace of them.
11:47Morning, Bill.
11:49Hi, Jim.
11:50Morning, Sam.
11:51Dropped by to see how Joey's getting along.
11:53He's all right.
11:54But he's awfully anxious about Fury.
11:57Yeah, poor kid.
11:58I know just how he feels.
12:01Pete told me what you did last night, Sam.
12:04I'm mighty grateful to you.
12:05Well, thank me, Jim.
12:07Just lucky I happened by and found the boy.
12:09Imagine, a little boy like that.
12:11I'm sure he'll be all right.
12:13Just lucky I happened by and found the boy.
12:15Imagine leaving Joey tied up like that.
12:18Them rustlers ought to be behind bars,
12:20and that's where they belong.
12:21I let to get my hands on the varmints that hog tied me.
12:24They made me eat dirt.
12:25First, we got to catch them.
12:27What do you figure on looking for them, Bill?
12:29We went all through the basin last night.
12:31Guess we ought to spread out and search
12:33the rest of the valley today.
12:36You know, it seems to me if I had to get a bunch of horses
12:39out of here fast, I'd head towards Red Mesa.
12:42Why?
12:43Well, that's pretty sparse country, Jim,
12:45and that back road had just made order
12:47to hide out trucks big enough to haul them horses away.
12:51Sounds reasonable.
12:53What do you think, Bill?
12:54Say, it's worth following up.
12:56I'll head to men that way.
12:58All right with you.
12:59Well, I got to get back to the store,
13:01and Jim, if there's anything I can do at all,
13:03just holler, will you?
13:04Thanks, Sam.
13:05See you.
13:07I thought you was taking a nap.
13:09I couldn't sleep, Pete.
13:11I've been figuring out how we can find Fury.
13:13How's that?
13:14I couldn't see much last night with that blindfold on,
13:17but I could hear awful good.
13:18You mean you heard something you could recognize?
13:20I'm pretty sure I could.
13:22I remember going up a little hill where Fury
13:24kicked a bunch of little rocks.
13:26Then we went across some plants or something.
13:28Then I heard a train and a diesel, too.
13:30I could tell by the horn.
13:32Well, that could be any one of them.
13:34That railroad stretches for miles in this valley.
13:36It's a long way from here.
13:37I know, Pete.
13:38But then we went through a stream.
13:39I could hear Fury splashing through it.
13:41Pete, I know we could find Fury if we just looked.
13:44It's worth a try.
13:45Give us something to do besides just sitting here waiting.
13:48Besides, I got a personal score to settle with them bandits.
13:51Saddle up.
13:55Will you stop worrying, Jip?
13:57I just put an idea in the sheriff's head.
13:59It'll take us a while to figure it out.
14:01I just put an idea in the sheriff's head.
14:03It'll take him miles out of the way.
14:07Oh, don't tell me you're troubles with that black stallion.
14:10Tie him down good.
14:12I know where we can get a top prize for it.
14:25Oh, it doesn't sound the same, Pete.
14:27Joey, this is the third hill we've gone down
14:30and none of them sounded right to you.
14:32Maybe I listened better when I was blindfolded.
14:34Say, Pete, if I was blindfolded,
14:36bet you I could really figure out the way.
14:38Ann, one thing's sure.
14:40You can't do any worse than you've been doing.
14:47All right, Pete.
14:48Let's go.
14:57Let's see you trace them.
14:59Me neither.
15:01Let's crisscross another mile or two.
15:03Mm-hmm.
15:19Well?
15:20I think this is the hill, Pete.
15:22Good. Let's keep going.
15:30Where are we, Pete?
15:31We're on a wood bridge, Joey.
15:33This is it.
15:34I remember the sound.
15:35And a little way ahead, I heard the train.
15:48We ought to be near the track now, Pete.
15:50Eh, there ain't no sign of a railroad.
15:52You better take off your blindfold.
15:54There it is, Pete.
15:55Down below the hill.
15:57Sure enough.
15:58Now you're clicking.
15:59What happened after you heard the train whistle?
16:01Oh, it's straight to a stream and crossed it.
16:03OK, Scouts.
16:04Right ahead it is.
16:10And here's a stream.
16:11All right.
16:12Let's keep going.
16:16There it is, Pete.
16:17Down below the hill.
16:18Sure enough.
16:19Now you're clicking.
16:20What happened after you heard the train whistle?
16:23Those are critters!
16:25Be careful, Joey.
16:31And there's Fury!
16:33Gee, I did remember right.
16:35You sure did, cowboy.
16:36And now we gotta be smart and not let them pole cats catch us.
16:40Got any ideas, Pete?
16:41I reckon the nearest phone is Jackson's Store.
16:44You hightail it back there.
16:45Call the sheriff.
16:46I'll stay here and keep my eye on things.
16:48it back there call the sheriff I'll stay here and keep my own things.
16:58Jackson Joey Jackson can I use your phone why what's the matter I got to call the
17:03sheriff Pete now we've got fury in the rustlers you didn't wear.
17:11And I guess that's something the sheriff I really want to know only I'll call him
17:15for you while I'm talking why don't you go out back and saddle my horse we're
17:19a lot closer than the sheriff and maybe we can help you.
17:30Hello give me the sheriff's office quick this is
17:33an emergency.
17:46I.
17:59Call the sheriff's office. Sure did you be here any time now.
18:05That's where the rest of the right now I know that place you do sure delivered feed
18:11there three four weeks ago came down the back road one of them rustlers might be
18:15in there sleeping now be ashamed that they got away before the sheriff got here
18:19wouldn't it what do you think you're not well I brought this along just in case I
18:24might need it let's sneak up there and jump my head I don't know what if you're
18:29afraid I ain't scared of no coyotes like them but you know you stay right here
18:33where you are the seat for you sure. I'll take that I'll get your hands up.
18:42All right get on up to that shack and you know if you don't want your friend Pete to
18:47get hurt follow on close move.
18:57And robbing us for years on feed prices I never figured you'd turn to rustling shut
19:00up and get inside come on.
19:12I have to lock the old man the kid up in the shack and we saw we got a lot of those
19:16horses and clear out of here fast so get with it.
19:23We got to do now P. We'll get out of here somehow.
19:42Though I'm beginning to suspect we're on a wild goose chase what do you mean when
19:46it sure does seem strange that the only time these rustlers hit a ranch is when
19:49the owner is gone but take my case for example the only ones who knew I was
19:53going where Pete and Joey. And Sam Jackson and Sam's the one who suggested we
19:59search this area why there's nothing suspicious about that maybe not but Sam's
20:05in a mighty good position to know when any of the owners leave for a while let's go
20:08have a talk with him.
20:14Yeah what about the stallion we'll come back for him later you boys mount up now
20:18probably. We only had an axe or something.
20:24You read all kind of.
20:38The.
20:39The.
21:06Rejoice.
21:10That's got to be.
21:24A joke.
21:31And this was a rattle is with him he's got let's get him.
21:39To. Turn fury around you
21:45a I told you to score to settle with them bandits.
22:02I'll take care of you.
22:09For. I know you're going to show.
22:39That.
22:57It's like we're going to have
22:57a new feet store owner sheriff. Let's go home Joey.
23:10And. Hey what are you doing there. All right reach. OK
23:16Pete bring me some rope got another rustler here. So you're going to give me
23:21a real pleasure to tie this one up.
23:34So even his friends are running out on him all right Pete I am up good we'll turn
23:38them over to the sheriff you'll get twenty years just like Sam Jackson and the rest
23:41of his gang twenty years. I don't want to be
23:46a Russian. Just being away from fury for one night long enough.
24:08For.
