An extra 3 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week alone,... pushing the total number of first-time claimants to 36-and-a-half million since mid-March.
Despite that, the Dow Jones closed up over one-and-a-half percent, the S&P 500, over one-percent and the NASDAQ picked up around the same percentage amount.
Crude oil prices went up on a dip in U.S. crude stockpiles -- and after the International Energy Agency forecast lower global stockpiles in the latter half of 2020.
Brent Crude was up 7-percent and WTI rose near 10-percent to close at 27-dollars 76-cents.
