00:18:13Come on.
00:18:21There. That finishes it.
00:18:23Every horse is handicapped.
00:18:25Have Rosie take this to the printers the minute he gets back.
00:18:27Wait a minute.
00:18:28Are you sure the odds on March Slave is okay?
00:18:31What's wrong with him?
00:18:33Seems a little long to me offhand.
00:18:35I don't figure odds offhand.
00:18:37You'll check the weight figures and the speed figures
00:18:39and the prices of the races he's been in.
00:18:41You'll hit an average of 81.
00:18:43The top horse using the same system of calculation
00:18:45gets a figure of 137.
00:18:47If 56 points under the favorite doesn't call for a quotation of 101,
00:18:50I'll eat all these sheets.
00:18:52Well, I guess you're right.
00:18:56I guess I shouldn't argue with a mathematical wizard like you.
00:18:59I wish your father had lived to see you toss figures around like that.
00:19:04He wouldn't have approved, being a college professor.
00:19:07You know how he was.
00:19:09Yeah.
00:19:11Remember how he insisted everything was real?
00:19:14Then almost proved it by working out a handicapping system.
00:19:17And he never bet a horse.
00:19:19That's right.
00:19:21He made me promise I'd never bet before he'd show me the system.
00:19:24Well, you haven't done so bad with our betting.
00:19:26You know, making the odds for the chumps.
00:19:29Yes, Cuddles.
00:19:31We've done all right.
00:19:33Why?
00:19:34Why do you call me Cuddles?
00:19:36Because you're a nice, fatherly old man.
00:19:39With a shoulder I can cuddle on when the world gets too annoying.
00:19:43Old?
00:19:44What do you mean old?
00:19:46Let me hear you howl.
00:19:47Go ahead, howl.
00:19:48A wolf.
00:19:49Now cut it out, will you?
00:19:50I'm no wolf.
00:19:51That's what I said.
00:19:52You're a nice old man, Cuddles.
00:19:55Say, speaking of wolves, why don't you get out more?
00:19:58What, again?
00:19:59Yes, again.
00:20:00Get out and meet some young fellows.
00:20:02You know a lot of them.
00:20:04Why, you stand so close to these cold figures,
00:20:07you can't tell whether you're a machine or a woman.
00:20:16What is this, a kiddie parade?
00:20:18Sherry, something's come up.
00:20:19I've got to talk to you and Chris.
00:20:20What did you bring him back for?
00:20:21That's what I want to talk to you about.
00:20:23Well, can't it wait, Rosie?
00:20:24No, Sherry, it's important.
00:20:26Now look, pal, you wait here.
00:20:28We've got to talk this over.
00:20:29OK.
00:20:35The little fellow's old lady's dead.
00:20:37Dead?
00:20:38Yeah.
00:20:39There was a lot of excitement at the flat
00:20:40when I got the kid home on account of her being dead.
00:20:42So I told the landlady I'd take her back here
00:20:44and take care of the kid.
00:20:45But why?
00:20:47Well, the kid thinks his mom's a slave, Sherry.
00:20:49I didn't have the heart to tell him.
00:20:51You mean he doesn't know his mother's dead?
00:20:53No.
00:20:54I figured we could tell him later after we stayed
00:20:56at your place a couple of days.
00:20:57My place?
00:20:58Yeah.
00:20:59You've got a big apartment with an extra bedroom.
00:21:01Are you suggesting I take that little boy in to live with me?
00:21:04Why not?
00:21:05You'll love him after you get to know him.
00:21:07I'm not going to get to know him.
00:21:09You've got to do something about this, Cuddles.
00:21:11What can I do?
00:21:12I don't know anything about kids.
00:21:14Well, something has to be done.
00:21:16Where's his father?
00:21:17Why doesn't his father take care of him?
00:21:18Well, according to the landlady, his father's dead too.
00:21:21And he ain't got any family that she knows of.
00:21:23Say, we could take him to an orphanage.
00:21:25That's it.
00:21:26Take him to an orphanage.
00:21:27Oh, Sherry, you can't do that.
00:21:29Why not?
00:21:30He's an orphan, isn't he?
00:21:31Yeah, but a place like that ain't so cozy
00:21:33for a kid that's just lost his mom.
00:21:35The other kids, it'd be a cinch to tell
00:21:37him she ain't just sleeping.
00:21:38Oh, why don't you take him in for a couple of days, Sherry?
00:21:41Until we sort of get things squared around, huh?
00:21:43I won't.
00:21:44What are you two trying to sell me?
00:21:46I don't know anything about kids.
00:21:48Oh, but you'll catch on.
00:21:50That comes natural to a woman.
00:21:51Not to me, it doesn't.
00:21:53If you think I'm going to have my very pleasant routine
00:21:55upset by a strange kid around the house, you're crazy.
00:21:58I don't like them.
00:21:59That means you don't like me, doesn't it?
00:22:05Now, look, there's nothing personal about this.
00:22:08What's your name?
00:22:09My name is Jimmy Carson.
00:22:11OK, Jimmy.
00:22:12As I was saying, there's nothing personal
00:22:13about this thing at all.
00:22:15Then you do like me?
00:22:17Well, you see, it's this way.
00:22:19We, um, that is, uh, I...
00:22:25Oh, Chris, you tell him how it is.
00:22:27Yeah, sure, I'll tell him.
00:22:28Sure, she likes you a lot, Jimmy.
00:22:30She's, she's crazy about you.
00:22:32That's why she's going to take you in to live with her
00:22:34while your mother's away.
00:22:36Chris!
00:22:37Yeah, she's got a great big place, pal.
00:22:40And she's going to get you that wagon you were talking about.
00:22:42Now, you two listen to me.
00:22:43Are you really going to buy me that wagon?
00:22:46Sure she is.
00:22:47It's already being delivered to her place.
00:22:49Chris, that isn't true.
00:22:50No, it will be when I get on the phone and order it.
00:22:53Chris.
00:22:54Why don't you give up, Sherry?
00:22:55It'll only be for a couple of days.
00:22:57All right.
00:22:59But I'm calling my lawyer tomorrow.
00:23:01He'll make arrangements about the orphanage
00:23:03in a nice legal way.
00:23:05I know what an orphanage is.
00:23:07It's where they put kids when their fathers and mothers are dead.
00:23:13Gee, I'm glad I'm not in one.
00:23:17If my mother was dead instead of sleeping,
00:23:20they might put me in an orphanage, mightn't they?
00:23:26Yes.
00:23:27They might.
00:23:30All right.
00:23:31I'll take you to my apartment.
00:23:33Oh, I just happened to think.
00:23:34I've got a dinner date with Ricky Sloan.
00:23:36What am I going to do?
00:23:38Well, that's all right.
00:23:39Have Ricky over to your place for dinner.
00:23:41The kid will add a domestic touch.
00:23:43And Ricky might even propose.
00:23:45Hmm.
00:23:46Enjoying yourselves, aren't you?
00:23:47Well, suppose you take a share in this little enterprise.
00:23:50How old are you, Jimmy?
00:23:52Six.
00:23:53Six.
00:23:54Now, get this.
00:23:55You two are going shopping.
00:23:56I want a complete outfit of clothing for a boy six years old.
00:23:59And I want it brought to my apartment right away.
00:24:01Yes, ma'am.
00:24:02Hey, what are we going to buy?
00:24:03Figure that out for yourselves.
00:24:05You're both little boys.
00:24:06Come on, Jimmy, while I get my coat and hat.
00:24:10Look, you buy the clothes.
00:24:12I'll get the wagon.
00:24:13Oh, no, you don't.
00:24:14You'll earn on this, too.
00:24:15Why, it's no job at all.
00:24:16Oh, no?
00:24:17I suppose you know what to buy him.
00:24:19Well, sure.
00:24:20Yeah, what?
00:24:21Well, it's very simple.
00:24:22Yeah.
00:24:23Well, you start out with those three-cornered things,
00:24:25you know, the pants.
00:24:26Oh, no.
00:24:27And you go out in there.
00:24:28Gee, wouldn't it be great if Shelly
00:24:30took on the kid to keeps?
00:24:32Yeah, but I'm quoting 50 to 1 odds against it.
00:24:35Hello?
00:24:38Yeah?
00:24:40Out of the money?
00:24:41Are you kidding?
00:24:44OK.
00:24:46You can raise those odds, Chris.
00:24:48The kid ain't lucky.
00:24:50Then, Eddie, give me just one hour.
00:25:07Hello, Ricky.
00:25:08This is Sherry.
00:25:10I wonder if you'd mind having dinner at my apartment
00:25:12tonight, just the two of us.
00:25:14Would I?
00:25:15That's the best idea you've had since I've known you.
00:25:17I'll be right over.
00:25:18Well, there's no need to hurry.
00:25:19We won't be going out anywhere.
00:25:21Goodbye.
00:25:36Hey, I thought you were going to finish your bath
00:25:38while I phoned.
00:25:39I was.
00:25:40But I was having so much fun, I forgot.
00:25:45Are you mad at me, Sherry?
00:25:47I will be if you don't hurry.
00:25:50Now, come on.
00:25:51Out of there.
00:25:53There we go.
00:25:56Ah.
00:25:57Whoa.
00:26:08Gee, Sherry, you're pretty.
00:26:10Do you think I'm pretty?
00:26:12Well, you're clean.
00:26:14How come I have to take a bath on Thursday?
00:26:17Mommy only bathes me on Saturdays.
00:26:20Well, we'll have to talk that over with your mommy.
00:26:23Come on, let me dry your feet.
00:26:29What's that for?
00:26:31Your hair is so pretty, I like to touch it.
00:26:36Listen, you six-year-old Casanova,
00:26:38turn off the charm, will you?
00:26:40What's a Casanova?
00:26:41Oh, you'll find out about 15 years from now.
00:26:45There.
00:26:46Now, as soon as I get your new pajamas on,
00:26:48you'll be all ready for bed.
00:26:58That's enough, young man.
00:27:00I'm exhausted.
00:27:01Just once more.
00:27:03All right, once more, but this is the last.
00:27:11Oh, that's enough.
00:27:13Now, into bed with you, young man.
00:27:15Do I have to say my prayers?
00:27:17Well, of course you have to say your prayers.
00:27:24Now I lay me down to sleep.
00:27:30Go on.
00:27:31I forgot.
00:27:33I pray.
00:27:35I pray my soul.
00:27:37I pray the Lord.
00:27:39I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
00:27:45If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord,
00:27:50I pray the Lord my soul to take.
00:27:54Wait a minute.
00:27:55Haven't you forgotten something?
00:27:56Amen.
00:27:57Bless Mommy, Sherry, Rosie, and Chris.
00:28:05Jimmy, suppose your mommy doesn't
00:28:07come back for a long time.
00:28:09She always came back when she went away before.
00:28:13Well, until she does, would you like to live with me?
00:28:18I sure would.
00:28:20Do you, Sherry?
00:28:21Can I?
00:28:22We'll see tomorrow.
00:28:25Now go right to sleep.
00:28:28Good night, Jimmy.
00:28:29Good night, Sherry.
00:28:37Good night, Jimmy.
00:28:38Good night.
00:28:39Good night.
00:28:40Good night.
00:28:41Good night, Sherry.
00:29:02Oh, hello, Ricky.
00:29:04You got here in a hurry after all.
00:29:05Oh, not so much in a hurry, Sherry.
00:29:06Ricky, something wonderful has happened.
00:29:08Something I never believed could happen.
00:29:10Yeah?
00:29:11There's a boy in my room.
00:29:12In bed, sleeping.
00:29:14A boy?
00:29:15How old?
00:29:16Six.
00:29:17Oh.
00:29:19Oh, Ricky, you don't know.
00:29:20You can't possibly know what's happened to me.
00:29:22Maybe...
00:29:23Maybe only a woman understands
00:29:25how much it means to have someone need her.
00:29:27Oh, Sherry, I've tried to convince you
00:29:29about three years now that I need you.
00:29:31Oh, I know, but you're different.
00:29:33You can take care of yourself.
00:29:35This little guy's so helpless.
00:29:38You got it bad, haven't you, honey?
00:29:40Where'd you find the boy?
00:29:42His mother died this afternoon.
00:29:43He hasn't a soul in the world to take care of him.
00:29:46I'm going to see my lawyer tomorrow about adopting him.
00:29:48Adopting him?
00:29:49Yes.
00:29:51What's wrong with that?
00:29:52Oh, nothing.
00:29:54I think it just seems kind of funny
00:29:55that a single girl would be adopting a little boy.
00:29:59I can give him everything he needs.
00:30:02Well, can't I?
00:30:03Yes, yes, of course you can.
00:30:05You'd be the luckiest kid in the world if you adopt him.
00:30:07There's no if about it.
00:30:09I've made up my mind.
00:30:10Well, then that settles it.
00:30:11The great Sherry Baker has spoken.
00:30:14You know, honey, I could make it a lot easier for you
00:30:16if you really want to adopt this boy.
00:30:18You could? How?
00:30:19Marry me.
00:30:21Oh, I know you've never considered me
00:30:22from that angle before, but I'd make a wonderful father.
00:30:25No, thanks, Ricky.
00:30:27You're grand company, but, uh,
00:30:29our tempers don't seem to match.
00:30:32You know, at times, you think I'm a nitwit, like today,
00:30:37when I picked your team to wind up in the cellar.
00:30:39You certainly were a nitwit.
00:30:44Time will tell.
00:30:45Our little wager's up.
00:30:47Yes, sir, Sherry, time will certainly tell.
00:30:50I suppose you know that I signed Tommy Marvin today.
00:30:54Tommy Marvin?
00:30:57Outstanding All-American last year.
00:30:59Signed Eddie Donnelly, too,
00:31:00the greatest forward passer in the country.
00:31:03But why didn't you tell me?
00:31:05Well, that's not my technique
00:31:06with women who know all the answers.
00:31:08Tell them nothing.
00:31:09You know, I'm going to get a big kick
00:31:11out of collecting $10,000 from you
00:31:13when my team wins the championship.
00:31:15May whittle you down to my size.
00:31:18Oh, come on, honey, let's forget the whole thing.
00:31:19When do we eat?
00:31:20As soon as I get dressed.
00:31:22I'm having dinner set up,
00:31:23and I hope it gives you indigestion.
00:31:26Oh, dear.
00:31:36Hello, there.
00:31:39Hello.
00:31:43Are you Casanova?
00:31:46No, no, you got me wrong, pal.
00:31:48I'm your future father, but your future mother
00:31:50doesn't know about it yet.
00:31:51My name's Ricky.
00:31:52What's yours?
00:31:53Hiya, Jimmy.
00:31:54Sit down, won't you?
00:31:55I'm going to live with Sherry till mommy gets back.
00:31:58Yeah, I heard about that.
00:32:00Three of us will be very happy, don't you think?
00:32:03Are you moving in, too?
00:32:05Yeah, yeah, very soon.
00:32:06Now, only, only Sherry doesn't know about it.
00:32:08We'll keep it a secret.
00:32:09What do you say?
00:32:10OK, Ricky.
00:32:11That's the boy, Jimmy.
00:32:16Of all the crazy, idiotic things,
00:32:18this is the craziest.
00:32:20I didn't come here for a lecture.
00:32:21You'll get one and like it.
00:32:23After which, you'll do exactly as I say.
00:32:25That's why I pay you a fat yearly retainer.
00:32:28Now, Sherry, listen to me.
00:32:29Let me explain this whole thing to you.
00:32:32Go ahead.
00:32:33Adopting a child is a serious undertaking.
00:32:36The laws of this state are strict.
00:32:39Now, in the first place, you're single.
00:32:41In the second place, the business you're in.
00:32:43What's the matter with my business?
00:32:45And what's wrong with being single?
00:32:46Now, don't get me wrong.
00:32:48Even if she does copy all the laws of this state,
00:32:50all she wants is to tie me to the business I've been involved in.
00:32:54That doesn't matter.
00:32:56What's all the matter with my business?
00:32:57And what's wrong with being single?
00:32:58Now, don't get on your high horse.
00:33:00There's nothing to matter with your business of being single.
00:33:03Personally, I think it's a blessing.
00:33:05But courts see things differently.
00:33:08What the court sees is your business.
00:33:10I know a little boy lost his mother.
00:33:12I'm going to make it my business to adopt him.
00:33:15we get into court if we get that far please don't carry
00:33:20a chip on your shoulder this
00:33:36is
00:33:37a rather unusual case was bigger it is not the young unmarried woman seeks to adopt
00:33:42a child what is your occupation I can see you don't read the sports pages your honor
00:33:48only during the baseball season there's one team in which I am particularly
00:33:52interested ask me anything you want to know about baseball ninety five percent of
00:33:56my prediction so far this year have been correct are you the sherry baker who
00:34:00forecast sporting events guilty your honor that may add further complications to
00:34:06your application for adoption why should it you're associated with certain gambling
00:34:11interests on my client has no connection with gamblers your honor she represents
00:34:16let us say sportsmen in certain transactions operating
00:34:19a commission house placing large bets throughout the country but I don't gamble
00:34:24myself I don't carry on any bookmaking people merely place commissions with me
00:34:29because I make the odds in reality I'm
00:34:32a broker just as respectable as any stock firm in Wall Street I fail to see the
00:34:36similarity in operation or respectability but there is
00:34:41a similarity my selections are exactly like
00:34:44a market letter issued by a member of the stock exchange except instead of stocks I
00:34:49deal in horse races and football games and things like that technically I suppose
00:34:54you're right I take it you have no objection if representatives of this court
00:34:58investigate your private life and your business my client welcomes any investigation
00:35:04of
00:35:04a character your honor very well I will grant you temporary custody of the boy
00:35:09pending the report of our investigators thank you your honor.
00:35:22There it is sherry baker sports service sounds like
00:35:27a funny business for
00:35:28a woman to be in.

00:44:09we've seen quite enough we're investigators from the juvenile call.
00:44:17It's.
00:44:37Real quick you lost your closest friend. Could be right.
00:44:47In. She
00:44:56ain't got
00:44:56a chance in the world Hey what makes you so sure she won't get away with that well
00:45:01you've got to do the say she will I'm late to five and I'm taking fifty dollars
00:45:05whether that well you've got yourself
00:45:06a bet jump is a scratchy with
00:45:08a morning line all tracks points well good enough is Sherry quoting any price on
00:45:13getting that kid listen clearly no cracks about that kid see that's poison yeah
00:45:18well maybe you'd like to put some money on the line if she gets away with it I mean
00:45:21you're betting against Sherry right here in
00:45:22a wrong office but why not she ain't got a chance in the world to keep in that kid
00:45:27the only thing that Sherry knows how to mother is
00:45:28a bankroll. Charming fellow. Always. What was that crack
00:45:36I look for what wait
00:45:37a minute Rosie I it's just here in the past you say that's what I want to know now
00:45:41Rosie when it don't get excited. Anybody else want to
00:45:48open this trap about Sherry to me.
00:45:58And I think. We're going to see
00:46:03a judge going to tell me I'm
00:46:04a lady. But you are a lady the very nicest lady I ever knew
00:46:11thanks Jimmy you're
00:46:13a gentleman. Listen fella I want to talk to you man to man OK shoot.
00:46:22You may hear a few things said about me today that won't be so nice if anybody
00:46:27says anything bad about you I'm going to poke them in the know. I'm afraid this is
00:46:34something a poke in the nose won't help. But I want you to understand. Whatever
00:46:39happens today doesn't change things between us. I love you Jimmy.
00:46:45I'll always love you I love you too Sherry. OK here we go.
00:46:52You know.
00:47:01Your Honor I know that the term betting commission is sounds bad but what my
00:47:05client is doing is
00:47:06a legitimate business in every sense of the word our reputation is impeccable I can
00:47:12bring dozens of character witnesses here to prove it I don't want to be necessary
00:47:16Mr Bickel in cases such as this the court has no choice only facts can be
00:47:21considered I've studied the report of our investigators carefully. I'm afraid that
00:47:28Miss Baker doesn't quite measure up. Your Honor what do you mean measure up I mean
00:47:34that the business you're in and the home environment do not meet the requirements
00:47:39for adoption I suppose it's not enough that the boy wants to stay with me that I
00:47:43love him and I'm prepared to give him every advantage you and your investigators
00:47:48and your stupid requirements. Why don't you ask the boy what he wants. Your Honor
00:47:54my client is a bit upset that is
00:47:56a parent. You will take charge of the boy in this mural I'll draw up his commitment
00:48:02to an orphanage immediately. Jimmy.
00:48:12Your Honor may I say goodbye to the boy somewhere where we can be alone. I'll try
00:48:18to make him understand you may use my study. Thank you.
00:48:36Well Jimmy. This is where we split up.
00:48:40Where am I going. Oh it isn't
00:48:43a bad place to be other boys to play with. Come and see you.
00:48:50I heard the man say I was going to an orphanage. That means my mommy isn't coming
00:48:57back ever doesn't it. Oh Jimmy.
00:49:09I'm not going to get
00:49:33away with it Chris. What are you going to do I'll tell you what I'm going to do I'm
00:49:38going to give up this business I'm going to move to
00:49:40a nice quiet suburb and prove to those narrow minded Puritans that I'm
00:49:43a fit person to take care of Jimmy. Why don't you quit daydreaming come down to
00:49:48earth if you think I'm daydreaming Chris you're crazy this business is yours as of
00:49:52now. Let me tell you something what you say is just the bunk so you're going to give
00:49:57up the business you're going to move to the suburbs you think that will clean the
00:50:01slate knock down opinion and prejudices. Now you're way off form Jerry your pick
00:50:07doesn't even figure because no matter where you go or what you do you'll still be
00:50:11Jerry Baker no public opinion handicaps people on past performances the same as
00:50:16horses you haven't got
00:50:18a chance this is one time I'm throwing past performances right out the window.
00:50:27Certainly you're not serious Ricky but I am serious yet what do you want
00:50:32a mascot for your football team no no nothing like that I just want to adopt
00:50:36a child with the court consider such
00:50:39an application from me well I don't see why not you have
00:50:43a good standing in the community you would be in
00:50:46a position to give a child certain advantages there's only one thing against you as
00:50:50I see it you're still single aren't you yes judge I'm still single that's the only
00:50:57objection knowing you like I do but look here I think what's this all about what
00:51:03are you up to. I'll tell you later judge thanks very much.
00:51:07I. Don't ask questions we're going on
00:51:33a little trip don't even bother to get your head not so fast where we go listen I
00:51:38told you not to ask questions come on Ricky's got
00:51:40a great idea show you on it there's no kidding it's
00:51:42a big look I don't go for mystery suppose you declare me and that's what we're
00:51:45trying to do you want to get Jimmy back don't you of course I do well then don't
00:51:49waste conversation come on what do we wait. By virtue of the powers invested in me
00:51:54but the state I now pronounce you man and wife. Gentlemen please give
00:52:02the groom a chance to kiss the bride. For Pete's sake kiss her what are you waiting
00:52:08for. That'll be two dollars unless of course you want the special embossed
00:52:14certificate in which case it will be fine. Shoot the work squire I'm in a spending
00:52:19mood come on Ricky let's go Rosie pay the man will you.
00:52:32Say you want to wreck it. You are now
00:52:36a proud father thanks yet by the way who is this girl you married she's right
00:52:41outside I'll bring her in. Darling. I'm not
00:52:46a judge. Sherry Baker no no not Sherry Baker judge Mrs Ricky Sloan there's no
00:52:53Sherry Baker anymore now she's even disposed of
00:52:56a business and I can vouch for her character we've been fighting since you were
00:52:59a pig tail this is highly irregular what's irregular about it judge I love her and
00:53:03she loves me we both love the boy she's got rid of her business now she's
00:53:06a respectable married woman and I'll guarantee to keep them both out of trouble now
00:53:10you think of one good objection that's it. For the life of me I can't think of one
00:53:16a hard judge you're
00:53:17a darling young lady you're forgetting the court's dignity Oh but the court isn't
00:53:22in session there that'll keep you from being lopsided goodbye judge thanks very much
00:53:27I guess.
00:53:40This order is official I know judge Morris a signature I can't understand neither
00:53:46can I I'll report plainly set forth that this woman is not
00:53:50a fit person not just a minute if you two ladies make
00:53:53a nasty crack about my wife I'll sue you for slander and make it stick but you have
00:53:57to go around looking for something bad and everybody why don't you try to find
00:54:00something good. A little fingers worth
00:54:02a room full of women like you. Let's get out of here.
00:54:14We've been
00:54:14a great part of it and I'm not going to do it but I'm not going to show you those
00:54:18all the way. I make it sweet as soon as they come in
00:54:23a door I went to get it got ready to go. Here comes the bride here comes
00:54:28the bride here comes the bride.
00:54:36Here comes the bride here comes the bride here comes
00:54:41the bride.
00:54:46I. Thank
00:54:54you that was great I heard not yet we got
00:54:57a swell way to get it all planned out but more yardage top house. Sure you can go
00:55:03well that's awfully nice of you boys but I'm afraid it's out we've already had
00:55:06a wedding dinner you mean just
00:55:07a tree without the mob that's right Rosie see I mean now where we had to do it out
00:55:12a quick figure and get Jimmy back again everything's OK now but we don't want
00:55:16anything to happen like what happened to Jimmy's birthday party remember you mean
00:55:20those two girls might try to start something again they might we don't want to take
00:55:23any chances besides it's Jimmy's bedtime Well I guess it takes all kinds of people
00:55:28make all kinds of people. But not good food go hungry.
00:55:38Your grand family good luck to the three of you tonight that you mean. Good night
00:55:43very much. Off to bed with you young man I don't want to go to bed I'm not sleepy

00:56:13I'm.
00:56:21Jen. And I bet you this time.
00:56:37When I play another I don't believe so I'm
00:56:39a little tired and so am I. Getting late. To get
00:56:45a kind of late isn't it. Don't you think you better run along.
00:56:53I said don't you think it's about time for you to go home. You kidding.
00:57:00Now wait a minute Sherry don't joke with me I'm not joking Ricky. Was awfully nice
00:57:06of you to marry me so I could get Jimmy back I appreciate it. You're pretty cute
00:57:12aren't you. Just sensible sensible I got another word for it

00:57:28a long end run you know I was silly enough to love you to think that you love me I
00:57:32thought you'd realize that I was crazy about that boy to try to make
00:57:35a good father to him but Ricky I thought you never mind what you thought you're
00:57:40just like the Sherry Baker people say you are smart hard as nails always figuring
00:57:44the odds in your favor OK sweetheart you made
00:57:46a good bet you got what you wanted I hope you're very happy with the whole thing.

01:02:05a little boy you open the account for you want to draw all this money out you
01:02:09didn't let him have it did you of course not that's why I called you but he seems
01:02:14to have quite
01:02:14a load on his mind such a little fellow says he's going back where he belongs
01:02:19doesn't hold him there I'll be right over. What's the idea of scaring Sherry like
01:02:24this Jimmy. I was just in the way when I heard you to
01:02:31fight last night you heard it. And afterwards
01:02:37Sherry came into my room and she was crying she loves you Ricky she didn't send
01:02:44she doesn't care thing about me you don't know much about women do you what are you
01:02:50talking about a woman never cries over
