#Day04 & 05- “Tungnath & Chandrashila “
Sonprayag-Guptakashi-Ukhimath-Chopta-Tungnath-Chandrashila-Tungnath-Chopta-Gopeshwar-Chamoli-Joshimath-Govindghat.
#Tunganath:-highest Shiva temple in the World (3680 meters above sea level)
#Chandrashila "Moon Rock". It is located at a height of 4000 metres (13,000 ft) above sea level, from here you can view the peaks of the Himalayas, including Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba. This is the place where Lord Rama meditated after defeating the demon-king Ravana. Another legend says that moon-god Chandra spent time here in penance.
Took sharing Jeep to Guptakashi from Sonprayag, changed jeep at Guptakashi to reach Ukhimath, There are no Sharing Jeep available at Ukhimath (only private Jeeps are available), hired private jeep in order to reach Chopta (as the next bus service was available on next day only and it was not worth to stay at Ukhimath), on arrival at Chopta started trek to Tunganath (3.5kms), stayed in a dharamshala at Tungnath, after checked in, started trek to Chandrashila (1.5 kms) from Tungnath. Evening witnessed Aarti ceremony at Tunganath temple.
