War Angel 1351 is a synth-driven anthemic electronica performance. The piece is dedicated to Euterpe. The inspiration, sonically, is Giovanni Giorgio Moroder. There are 64 tracks. The multi-part choir was composited on a Yamaha MODX-8. The Heavy LFO Wobble is from a Roland Juno-106. The arpeggiated sequence was played on a Behringer Odyssey, MIDI synched with an Arturia Drumbrute. The electric piano and musical fx are from the Yamaha MODX-8. The descending 3 octave runs and other melodic lines were performed on a Sequential Circuits Prophet Rev 2. The primary rhythm pattern is from the Yamaha MODX-8, although a Yamaha PSR-463 was used for the claps and a Roland JD-Xi was used for 808 kicks. The JD-Xi is used on the Jupiter 8 strings setting and is the vocoder. The vocoder dialogue is number one through six in Japanese, The last two paragraphs of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, and secret hidden lyrics. The male and female voices are speaking in Ladin, a language from Northern Italy and one of the regional languages of Giorgio Moroder’s home. The piece was tracked in Protools via a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. The PSR-E463, JD-Xi and Odyssey were sent to the DI via Behringer PMX-2000.
