How to Bridge the Generation Gap between Parents and Children? – By Dr. Sapna Sharma

@Parents – Remember that our children and we as parents have experienced two different worlds of values, attitudes, objectives, tastes, cultures, and priorities. When our worlds are different, when the environment is different, then how can we expect to have the same thoughts and values? Of course, with changing time, lifestyle changes and so does the mindset of children (the next generation).

It is important for us as parents to understand this gap and try bridging the gap with an open channel of communication. It is also important to understand that the root cause of not understanding our children is the generation gap that also leads to psychological and emotional differences. Before the differences go deeper and the situation becomes irreparable, it is essential to bridge the gap. The best we can do is to exchange our viewpoints with our children and understand their beliefs to further come down to a mutual understanding.
