For me, history repeats itself in Florida as I come face-to-face with one of my favorite Disney Princesses, Rapunzel the Lost Princess of Corona from the "Tangled" franchise.
For those unfamiliar with this Princess, here is her story (or, as much of it as I can remember).
Rapunzel, as an infant, was kidnapped from Corona by the Evil Mother Gothel when she learned that the little Princess had inherited the healing power of the Sun-Drop Flower and wanted it to retain her youth forever.
On the day of her eighteenth Birthday, Fate brings Rapunzel together with a wanted thief named Flynn Rider (whose given name is Eugene Fitzherbert) and makes a deal with him to see what she only knows as the "Floating Lights" up close. Their journey ultimately takes them into Corona, where Rapunzel sees the Floating Lights as lanterns and learns of her origins as its Lost Princess who had gone missing as a baby.
Rapunzel later returns to the Tower where Mother Gothel had been keeping her, confronts her about this story, and rebels, only to be bound and gagged by the villainess by the time Eugene finds her again. Eugene is mortally wounded by Gothel, causing Rapunzel to plead with her to allow the Princess to save his life. However, with his dying breath, Eugene cuts Rapunzel's blonde hair, causing its power to be lost, resulting in Mother Gothel aging herself out of existence.
Fortunately for the newfound couple, Rapunzel's tears have enough of the Sun-Drop's magic to bring Eugene back to life. Eugene reunites Rapunzel with her parents after eighteen years, and all is well in Corona afterwards.
And now, here is that fateful meeting in Princess Fairytale Hall, where I meet Rapunzel, the Lost Princess and heiress of Corona.
Hope you enjoy.
