A resident of Bhind in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, Ravi Gupta, who makes Rs 6000 per month, got tax notice to explain transactions of Rs 132 crore in his name. The transactions were done from an account opened on his name in Axis Bank. Gupta called it a forge account and reportedly he makes just Rs 6,000 per month. Speaking on it, Gupta said, “This matter was reported by Axis Bank. The account was opened in 2011 in Mumbai branch and there were transactions of Rs 132 crore in this and in relation with it, the Income Tax Department had sent me notices several times. Income tax (department) is demanding Rs 3.5 crores. The bank account is not opened by me. Somebody else has opened this account or maybe Axis bank has opened it on their own.” Thana In-charge of Gwalior’s Jhansi Road, Damodar Gupta, said, “Now, This matter has no relation here. He is neither the citizen of Gwalior nor any incident happened to him here. We asked him to meet Income Tax Dept and do the investigation.”
