Cow gets stuck between narrow walls while fleeing from horny bulls in east India

A cow in heat was pursued by seven bulls until she became trapped in an alley in eastern India on January 2.

Desperate to find safety, the cow fled through the gates of a house in Nayapalli colony, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.

To save herself from the relentless bulls, the cow moved into the narrow space that separated the walls of two adjoining houses and squeezed herself between them.

The residents of the house chased the bulls away, but couldn't rescue the terrified cow as she was badly stuck in the narrow two-feet wide space, which separated the walls.

They called Amulya Kumar Nayak of People For Animals organisation to rescue the cow.

Amulya reached the spot with his team and then called the fire brigade for help seeing how bad the situation was.

The fire fighters tied up the front legs of the cow and gently dragged her out of the narrow space in a rescue effort lasting nearly two hours.

The cow was treated for minor injuries and a broken horn.

“During my 15 years of work as an animal rights activist, I had never come across such an incident,” said Amulya Kumar Nayak.
